Abstract

Single sodium channel currents were measured in cell-atached patches of native and chloramine-T treated neuroblastoma cells, N1E 115. Channels modified by chloramine-T can open and close several times during depolarization. The open time of these channels was never longer than that of the native channels. Therefore the slower decay of the averaged current must be explained by the flickering behaviour of the modified channels.
