Abstract

In this word, the effects of adding different contents of CeO2 to pure Al anode alloy plates on the anode performance of aluminum air batteries were evaluated using an electrochemical workstation, a blue dot test system, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the addition of CeO2 had a positive effect on the discharge performance of aluminum anodes for aluminum-air batteries, especially at high current density of 100 mA·cm−2 for Al-0.20 wt% CeO2 and Al-0.25 wt% CeO2 anodes, and also improved the electrochemical activity, corrosion resistance, and anode utilization of aluminum anodes.
