Abstract

AbstractThe composition of the degradation products of seven metallic soaps of the linseed oil fatty acids has been determined by gas-liquid chromatography and a comparison has been made of their ability to inhibit the corrosion of iron.It is concluded that inhibitive paints might be based on alkaline earth pigments dispersed in drying oils, or alkaline earth azelates might be used as pigments in non-soap forming vehicles.
