Abstract

Chemical spray deposition process has been used to study the effect of change of cadmium to sulphur ions on crystallinity and optical properties of cadmium sulphide films. It is found that the crystalline perfection of the film is the best when the ratio of cadmium to sulphur ions 1:3 and the absorption coefficient is very similar to single crystal absorption. Orientation of crystallites undergoes a change when cation anion ratio is varied.
