Abstract

To investigate a possible effect of vitamin D on enzyme proteins, experiments were performed to evaluate enzyme level changes of main metabolic pathways in kidney, liver and intestinal mucosa of rats fed on a vitamin D-free, and on a diet containing high doses of the vitamin. The results suggest that enzyme levels are influenced by non physiological doses of the vitamin.
