Abstract

The literature contains considerable data on the effect of calcium and phosphorus compounds on milking cows with reference to the milk production and the maintenance of equilibrium of these elements. The data on the effect of such compounds on the growth of dairy animals are very meager. Hart (2) et al. report that the addition of bone meal and cod liver oil to rations made up of products of the wheat plant gave a marked improvement in the growth and reproduction of dairy
