Abstract
ABSTRACTThe properties of several jojoba oil biodiesel–diesel fuel blends (B10, B20, B30, B50 and pure fuels B0 and B100) were measured according to the corresponding ASTM standards. It was found that the calculated Cetane index of jojoba oil biodiesel and its blends with diesel obtained by using both ASTM D4737 and ASTM D976 is lower than that for pure diesel fuel. The jojoba biodiesel and its blends have many advantageous properties compared to diesel fuel such as higher flash point temperature, lower ash and sulfur contents, and lower initial and final boiling temperature. The current work provides the lacking data for the jojoba biodiesel and its blend with diesel. These data are required for further experimentation of the fuel, or for simulation and modeling purposes.
