Abstract

A method is presented for comparing the effect of corn-stalk biochar, rice-husk biochar and pine biochar on the migration and leaching of phosphorus in black soil. The process involves the addition of different biochar contents to black soil and research on soil column simulations. The results showed that pine biochar has a better effect on reducing the leaching volume, and the cumulative leaching solution volume was negatively correlated with the application rates of pine biochars. In addition, at an application rate of 6%, the cumulative volume of the leaching solution was significantly lower than that of the other biochar treatments. When 1.2% of the above three biochars were added in the black soil, the pine biochar produced the lowest phosphorus cumulative leaching amount. The effects of the biochar treatments on reducing the vertical migration of phosphorus were as follows: pine biochar > corn-stalk biochar > rice-husk biochar and 1.2% > 0.6% > 3.6% > 6%. These results indicated that a suitable biochar can effectively reduce the vertical migration of phosphorus and reduce the leaching losses in black soil.
