Abstract
The effect of different additions is considered on properties and phase composition of crucible induction furnace linings, and a reduction of volatility of a binder with water vapor during crucible drying and firing. Calcium and magnesium borates, and other additions are made to the composition of a limning mix instead of boric acid. The possibility is demonstrated by experiment of using boron-containing additions and fluorspar as a binder in crucible induction furnace linings for melting nonferrous metals based on copper.
