Abstract

Bilateral medial rectus recession (BMR) and unilateral recession-resection (RR) are well-established surgical techniques for esotropia. There is no consensus on which is preferable although convention suggests a greater effect of BMR on near deviation. We present a series of patients who underwent BMR for esotropia and the effect on the near and distance angles.
