Abstract

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common type of arrhythmia and its incidence increases with aging. Long-term antiarrhythmic drug therapy was usually used for the maintenance of sinus rhythm in patients with paroxysmal AF. However, many patients with paroxysmal AF experience AF recurrence in the long term. 1 Fuchs T. Podrid P.J. Some investigators have shown that the electrophysiologic abnormalities of the atrial muscle in patients with paroxysmal AF could be detected by P-wave signal-averaged electrocardiography (P-SAE). 9 Fukunami M.
