Abstract

In this paper, the effects of applied electric field on the corrosion resistance of slag-line (ZrO2-C material) of SEN under mold flux-molten steel coupling condition (near working condition) was systematically studied. The results show that the applied electric field can regulate the ion movement in the mold flux and affect the graphite activity in slag-line, thereby affecting the corrosion resistance of the slag-line. In the actual production, the corrosion resistance of the slag-line can be improved by inserting the electrode into the mold flux and using the sacrificial anode to protect the cathode.
