Abstract

The influence of Sb on the development of preferred (110) [001] texture in high-purity Fe-3% Si alloys and commercial 3% silicon steel was studied. It is shown that the addition of antimony supports more precise (110) [001] texture in the above-mentioned materials by X-ray pole figure studies. We also identified (100) [001] texture in commercial steel with Sb. From microfracture studies it is deduced that Sb segregates on the grain boundary of Fe-Si alloys.
