Abstract

Investigations of magnetic reversal in a Co-rich amorphous wire were performed using the Kerr effect and small-angle magnetization rotation method. It was found that the sign of the magnetostriction was changed from negative to positive after current annealing. It is concluded that the outer shell of an as-quenched wire consists of circular bamboo domains, while an annealed wire displays axial maze domain structure.
