Abstract

The effect of various anions on photosystem I (PSI)-mediated electron transport was studied in control and heat-treated chloroplasts. Results show that heat treatment exposes not only some of the reduced dichlorophenolindophenol binding sites, but also certain anion binding sites. Moreover, the site of action of anions is at two places in the electron transport chain: one site is between the DCMU binding site and the HgCl 2 binding site (on plastocyanin) and the other is on the P700 itself
