Effect of an increase in opening roller width on fibre configuration within the yarn structure and wrapper fibres of a rotor spinning system

Abstract

In second part of the study, width of the opening roller (OR) of the rotor spinning system was increased by 25 and 50%, respectively, and its consequential effect on fibre configuration, wrapper fibres and twist efficiency was accordingly investigated. Observations indicated a positive correlation between widened OR and yarn structure (i.e. fibre configuration and wrapper fibre types).
