Abstract

The spectra of methane adsorbed in Ca 6 A zeolite are recorded in a wide range of temperatures and filling rates. A double splitting of the ν 3 vibration at low temperature and several ν 1 peaks when the filling rate increases show the presence of different populations of adsorbed molecules, nonorientated and orientated in two adsorption sites in which the electric fields have different values. Infrared analysis points out the inhomogeneity of the adsorption in CaA zeolite
