Abstract
The pseudoternary systems Er 2 (Fe,Mn) 14 B and Er 2 (Fe,Co) 14 B have been studied and we report an unusual variation of the unit cell volume with composition across the limited range of formation of the tetragonal Nd 2 Fe 14 B-type phase. Compositions outside of this range are multiphase consisting of known intermetallic compounds.
