Abstract
We study the effect of one of the main parameters of flotation ore-dressing, specifically, alkalinity of the pulp, on the selective flotation of sulfide and oxide minerals of copper from the Udokan deposition ores (Chita oblast). It is found that the optimum values are pH = 9 for sulfide minerals of copper and pH = 10 for the oxide ones. A supply of lime at the stage of pounding and sodium sulfide into the oxide cycle of flotation increases pH of the pulp from 7 to 9 in the first case and from 8 to 10 in the second case, which is favorable for an increase in total extraction of copper from 84.2 to 89.0% and selectivity of flotation from 126.2 to 161.3%.
