Abstract
In this study as its novelty, Al/Al2O3 composites have been fabricated combined stir casting and accumulative roll bonding (ARB) process. Then, the next step was the investigation of the effect of Nano Al2O3 Vol.% on mechanical, wear and microstructural properties of these kind of composites. After the 4th cycle, an excellent particle distribution through the aluminum matrix has been achieved. Then, mechanical properties, wear resistance and microstructural properties have been investigated. The results showed that by higher the alumina Vol.% contents, the strength of these composites were enhanced and the elongation of samples decreased. Also, by increasing alumina content into the Al matrix through stir casting process, a significant increase in wear resistance was achieved.
