EFFECT OF AGE OF LOCAL IRAQI DOES ON SOME PHYSIOLOGICAL, BIOCHEMICAL AND PROTEINS IN THE BLOOD

Abstract

Some physiological , Enzymes , total proteins and its fractions in the blood were examined with the different ages in the seventy seven local Iraqi does , which belong to Agragof goat improvement station / IPA Agricultural Research Center , during period of September to November / 2001. The following parameters were examined, packed cell volume, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, glutamic oxaloacetic and pyruvic transaminase enzymes, alkaline phosphatase enzyme, Total serum protein, Albumin and globulins. Data shown that there was no significant differences ( P>0.05) in the packed cell volume with the age and the average percentages were 30.87 , 28.07 , 26.11 and 26.35 % for ages 21, 4, 6 and 8 years, respectively. While the erythrocytes sedimentation rate were 5.16, 7.53, 8.20, and 8.60 mm/ westergreen pipette/ 24 hrs. For ages 2, 4, 6 and 8 years, respectively. In addition, there was no significant differences (P>0.05) have been noticed in the activity of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase enzymes between ages. While young does (2 years) showed an increased in the activity of glutamic pyruvic transaminase (P<0.05) than others. The alkaline phosphotase activity was not affected by the age , and the average values were 19.89, 20.04, 13.38, and 15.12 (K.A.U./ dl) for does aged 2, 4, 6 and 8 years, respectively. Total serum protein increased (P<0.05) for young does (2 years) which recorded 9.22 ± 0.29 gm/dl. While the percentages of albumin , alpha and beta globulin were not effect by age of does , whereas the lowest level of gama globulin was recorded for young does ( 2 years ) .
