Abstract

The effect of Ag addition to YBa 2Cu 3O 7 − δ (YBCO) superconducting thin films prepared by mist microwave-plasma chemical vapor deposition on MgO(100) substrates was investigated. The electrical characteristics of the films, such as zero-resistance temperature, T c-zero, and resistivity, ϱ, were greatly improved by Ag addition. It was found that the increase of T c-zero and the decrease of ϱ due to the Ag addition in the preparation of YBCO superconducting thin films can be attributed to the improvement of the crystalline quality.
