Abstract

The problem of the effect of acoustic oscillations on the stability of a compressible ideal-fluid jet flow is examined in the case of a plane jet with standing acoustic waves superimposed across it. The method of dividing the motion into fast and slow with allowance for nonlinear acoustic effects is employed. The acoustic oscillations are found to affect the growth rate of unstable hydrodynamic disturbances.
