Abstract

Summary Callus of a monogenic induced dwarf of hexaploid triticale strain DTS 330 was used along with its control to study their morphogenetic response to abscisic acid (ABA) and gibberellic acid (GA3) which were used in the preculture medium. Induced dwarf was found to be non-responding to either ABA or GA3. In the control, the frequency of shoot forming calli increased with 0.4 and 0.6 mg·l−1 ABA whereas GA3 completely inhibited the shoot formation. Higher levels of endogenous gibberellins were found in the callus cultures of the mutant compared to control.
