Abstract

A multihospital community health care system installed and implemented a new perinatal clinical decision support software program in October 2020. This system included artificial intelligence to assess uterine contractions and to display an alert if uterine tachysystole (UT; more than five contractions in a 10-minute period averaged over 30 minutes) was detected. Only one study was identified in the literature that demonstrated that the rate of UT decreased after implementation of this perinatal system.
