Abstract

Effects of a disorder degree on the vibrational spectrum of a PbSc 1/2Ta 1/2O 3 – (PST) relaxor ferroelectric were studied by inelastic neutron scattering in the temperature range 77–320 K. PST samples with different disorder degrees were observed to exhibit different lattice dynamics. It has been found that at low energies the density of vibrational states of disordered PST varies with temperature in a wider energy range than that of the ordered PST.
