Abstract

Abstract 2D axisymmetrical code TRANSMAC was developed to provide a detailed analysis of transients during plasma initiation stage in ITER. Due to nonaxisymmetrical effects (holes and ports in blanket and vacuum vessel, etc.) a 2D model needs to be corrected. An approach to a 2D model correction on the basis of the 3D code TYPHOON (A.V. Belov et al., Fusion Engineering and Design, 31, 167–180, 1996) is verified and discussed.
