Abstract
Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease, chronic and degenerative pathology which is involved the immune system. New treatments seek to modify the immune response. The IMMP due to its immunomodulatory properties is a candidate to be evaluated as a treatment for arthritis. Our aim is to evaluate IMMF effect on inflammation and joint damage in a model RA. RA in Wistar rats was induced by administration of bovine collagen II. IMMP (25, 50, 100 y 200 ng/Kg), i.p., three times a week for 3 weeks was administrated. Rats treated with the 50, 100 and 200 ng/kg of IMMP showed a decrease of inflamation and in the breakdown of bone and cartilage, as well. In addition, rats treated with IMMP had no alterations in the liver, kidneys, thymus, spleen and weight.
