Abstract
Micro resistance spot welding is welding that is widely used in welding cylindrical battery 18650 because the process is easy. SUS 304 Stainless Steel with a thickness of 0.2 mm is used as a connection plate, and lap joint is a connection that is used in lithium batteries because to facilitate the welding process. This study purpose of knowing the effects of distance nugget and current. The method is simulation and experimental. The simulations result in maximum stress is 80310 N/mm2. The experimental method with parameters of current 14 A, 16 A, 18 A and the distance of the nugget are 12 mm, 8 mm, and 4 mm, measure the HAZ and the nugget from welding are using a digital microscope with a magnification of 100 times, and shear test with 100 N/min. Shear test results show variations in the nugget distance, and a maximum load of 112 N with a nugget distance of 4 mm and comparison with the results of statistical simulation, the widest HAZ area at 14 A has 1.8 mm, and the widest nugget area at 18 A has 0.08 mm.
