Abstract

Objective To compare the efficacy of early parenteral nutrition (PN) and enteral nutrition (EN) on patients with radical resections of gastric cancer.Methods One hundred and three cases of gastric cancer patients were randomly divided into EN (enteral nutrition support)group and PN(parenteral nutrition support) group,the nutrition,immunization,recovery and post-operative hospital time,nutrition-related cost were observed.Results The recovery levels of TP,PA,ALB,CD3 +,CD4 + and CD4 +/CD8 + in EN group were higher than those in PN group(P < 0.05).Meanwhile,the recovery levels of infectious complications,the time of passage of gas by anus,gastric emptying time,average hospital days nutrition-related costs were lower than those of PN group(P <0.05).Conclusions EN is a preferred method of nutritional support for patients with advanced gastric carcinoma after operation at prophase.
