Abstract
Bi/BiOBr/CdS photocatalytic materials were successfully prepared in this study. X-ray diffraction studies had shown that BiOBr, CdS and Bi were successfully combined. Degradation experiment indicated that the degradation rates for norfloxacin of Bi/BiOBr/CdS-4 reached 97.4%, which was about 14.4% higher than that of BiOBr/CdS. The degradation half-life time was shortened to 10 min, and the reaction rate was 2.2 times that of BiOBr/CdS. The reason why the photocatalytic activity is enhanced is that the heterojunction formed by the higher valence band BiOBr, the lower conduction band valence CdS, and the lower Fermi level Bi metal element effectively suppresses the recombination of holes and photogenerated electrons, which leads to the enhancement of oxidation capacity.
