Abstract
To further study the explosion effect and mechanism of explosion-proof material on olefin gas, the 6.5% ethylene-air explosion experiments and simulation results were analyzed after filling with different wires. The experiments show that wires can effectively inhibit ethylene explosion. In addition, the inhibition effect of iron wire is better than that of nickel wire, followed by aluminum wire and copper wire. The wires mainly make the explosion end in advance, promoting the early termination of chain reaction and reducing explosion pressure. The simulation results show the key free radicals and the main reaction routes affecting the explosion reaction. The ferromagnetic iron wire direct affects the movement of oxygen molecules and weakens the reaction between ·O, ·OH, and ethylene. It provides the significance of reference and guidance for the future development of new explosion-proof materials.
