Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the target training method on the backhand ability of tennis courts in the Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Tennis Courts, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS). This research method uses an experiment with a research design used, namely one groups pre-test - post-test design, a research design that contains a pre-test before giving treatment and a post-test after giving treatment. In this study, to obtain a conclusion, an increase in the number of pre-test and post-test was used which aims to determine the effectiveness of the exercises that have been carried out on UMS Tennis Field UKM students. Therefore, the results obtained from the pretest mean of 17,525 and the posttest mean of 20,150, an increase of 2,625. With that it can be concluded that backhand training with a target can improve the backhand ability of UMS Tennis UKM students.
