Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of verticalization and mobility on labor primiparous women. METHOD: Quatitative and descriptive study. A research was carried out with 13 primigravidae in a Natural Childbirth House, Salvador Bahia. RESULTS: The results showed that the application of mobility techniques and vertical positioning contributed to the progression of the active phase of labor and delivery. The postpartum interview evidenced delivery as a positive experience, with a sense of acceptance and rediction of pain perception. CONCLUSION: At the end of the study, we observed significant positive effects on the physical and emotional comfort of the participants, as well as their contribution to the evolution of labor and its healthy outcome.
