Abstract

Aquatic physiotherapy is extremely necessary in the rehabilitation of patients due to its physical properties and physiological effects of water. It aims to investigate the effects of aquatic physiotherapy on the quality of life of elderly patients. An integrative review study, published between 2015 and 2024, selected through the Medline/PubMed, SciELO and LILACS databases, found 250 articles, 10 of which met the previously established inclusion criteria. Aquatic physiotherapy has been shown to contribute significantly to the quality of life of elderly patients, providing relaxed sleep, improved mobility and increased confidence in daily activities.
