Abstract

ObjectiveTo determine the effects of physical activity interventions on health-related quality of life in adults with hypertension. Materials and methodsPubmed/MEDLINE, EMBASE, LILACS, CENTRAL and additional resources such as Scielo and ScienceDirect were searched to identify randomized controlled trials addressing the effects of physical activity on health-related quality of life in adults with hypertension. Five trials were included (n=519) and shown low risk of bias and high methodological quality. ResultsConducting physical activity has positive effects on biological indicators such as BMI and cholesterol, in relation to the effects on the roles of HRQOL in the primary outcomes greater effect of interventions in the control group evidenced. ConclusionsThe practice of physical activity has positive effects on biological indicators in adults diagnosed with hypertension.
