Abstract

Adolescents with HIV (AWHIV) in sub-Saharan Africa face challenges transitioning to adult HIV care including suboptimal disclosure of their HIV status, which is necessary for successful transition. Standardized tools and processes to facilitate transition are lacking. An Adolescent Transition Package (ATP) that combined HIV disclosure and transition tools recently was shown to improve transition readiness among AWHIV in Kenya in a cluster randomized trial (CRT). Understanding the costs associated with implementation of the ATP can inform future scale-up.
