Abstract

Treatment for multiple rib fractures (MRF) may include surgical rib fixation (SRF) or non-operative care. Recent meta-analyses have demonstrated that SRF results in faster recovery and lower long-term complication rates. Our study evaluated characteristics, treatments and immediate post-operative outcomes of MRF patients with and without SRF.
