He also holds academic appointments asProfessor of Medicine and of Physiology at LouisianaState University, New Orleans and Clinical Professorof Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Pharmacology atTulane University, New Orleans. He has held appoint-ments as George Lynn Cross Research Professor ofMedicine and as Professor of Physiology and of Phar-macology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sci-ences Center, Oklahoma City, OK.Dr. Frohlich is recognized internationally for hisinvestigative work in clinical and experimental hy-pertension. His clinical studies have ranged from thephysiologic, hemodynamic, and echocardiographicassessment of different clinical forms and severity ofhypertensive disease (including elucidation of thenatural history of the disease and demonstration ofearly target organ involvement by the disease) toevaluation and mechanisms of action of new pharma-cologic antihypertensive entities. His experimentallaboratory research work has been concerned withthe development of techniques for hemodynamic as-sessment of experimental forms of hypertension(spontaneously hypertensive and Goldblatt hyperten-sive rat models); elucidating heart and kidney in-volvement in hypertension; and mechanisms of anti-hypertensive drug actions. He has published manymanuscripts, book chapters, editorials, and books,and participates on advisory committees of suchprestigious organizations as the American Heart As-sociation, American College of Cardiology, NationalHeart, Lung, and Blood Institute, Food and DrugAdministration, Department of Veterans Affairs, andthe World Health Organization.
