Abstract

In this chapter, I return to the importance of ideals in pursuing educational justice and remind the reader that no matter how the facts concerning persistent inequality may tell against optimism, they do not tell against hope. Indeed, it is always possible to foster educational justice, if only with a small ‘j.’ However small or incremental the contribution to educational justice, each success ought to be affirmed. But in striving to make our situation more just, we also must show ourselves more amenable to a constellation of strategies and alliances that we previously may have been loath to even consider.
