Abstract

Onehundredninety students who consulted the student psychiatrist for the first time in Stockholm 1976 were interviewed. Thirty six had not completed their high-school education but were admitted to university studies after a recent government reform aimed at greater educational equality. Serious family problems, working-class background, and addiction problems were more frequent in the group without complete high-school education as compared with other students seeking consultation.
