Abstract

The article attempts to review and analyze the resent development process of the education sector in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao in South China. This rapidly developing economic region is an urban cluster that includes eleven cities, two of which are Special Autonomous Regions - Hong Kong and Macau - with a high degree of autonomy and local specificity of educational systems. In this regard, the processes of standardization and multi-level integration of the district’s educational systems is being carefully planned and actively implemented in the Pearl River Delta. China’s unique experience in this matter deserves close study, especially considering the lack of a sufficient number of publications on this topic in Russian language sources. The materials analyzed in the article include official printed analytical reviews and scientific publications written by Chinese specialists who have direct access to primary sources and deeply understand the topic.
