Abstract

The IEEE Smart Village (ISV) initiative uses a three-pronged approach to community development. The first is reliable electricity delivery that is large enough to serve the needs of the community. Education is the second area of focus, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the community development programs that are enabled by electrification and entrepreneurship. The third aspect involves empowering local entrepreneurs so that jobs are available and sustainable businesses thrive.
