Abstract

In Response: The Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) shares the goals expressed by Schell et al.1 to encourage the practice of evidence-based medical education. FAER Research in Education Grants (REGs) provide awardees the opportunity to participate in formal education courses and degree programs. These REGs are “intended to stimulate career development for anesthesiologists interested in research into concepts, methods and techniques of education in anesthesiology in all its forms, including novel approaches to educating medical students, residents, fellows and practicing physicians.” For more information, please visit our web site at www.faer.org to review the application process. FAER believes research and education are the backbone of our specialty and encourages more high quality, fundable applications allowing anesthesiology to have a leading role in evidence-based medical education research.
