Abstract

Current European outlooks, research, and provision for the education of the gifted are described in terms of the recent great political changes, Europe is seen as having an old, shared, cultural core underlying national variation, although deeper differences of approach between Western and Eastern Europe are considered, including the possible problems and benefits of integration. The main conclusion is that within this diversity, communication is the most important means of joint benefit to gifted children and their teachers, and of course, that also includes non‐European countries.
