Abstract

With the breathtaking advance of communications technology and computing, the world witnesses the emergence of a new society, where information is ubiquitous, changing our way of thinking and acting. The Information Society is not only a technological phenomenon, has passed the political, economic, educational and cultural. Featuring, among the educational aspects, the emergence of the digital library and its role as a provider of access to digital information. This article aims to make an indentation in the literature on digital libraries and education, which were perceived lack of educational digital libraries, Portugal and Brazil, a fact which highlights a gap in the educational system of those countries.
