QScience.com is the innovative and collaborative, peer-reviewed, online publishing platform from Hamad bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press). It offers a fast and transparent Open Access scholarly publishing process, which is centered on the author, bringing their research to a global audience.

This issue of the Journal witnesses the introduction of a new feature, relating to in-depth analysis of mechanisms of disease
Each series will deal with different molecular mechanisms and clinical implications of specific signaling pathways contributing to an important disease process
The inaugural series deals with pulmonary arterial hypertension, starting with the Role of Endothelin Receptors, by Adrian Chester and colleagues, published in this issue, to be followed by the role of important pathways contributing to this important disease to be published in future issues
