Knox Editor Professor of continuing education and director of the Officer for the Study of Continuing Professional Education, University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. During more than twentyh-five years he has taught in and administered a wide variety of educational programs for adults. Between 1973 and 1977 he served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Director of Continuing Education and Public Service for the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. He has been a professor of adult and continuing education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Teachers College Columbia University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, and during 1975–77 was chairman of the AEA Commission of Professors of Adult Education.
