Upon becoming co-editors, we committed to publishing articles and book reviews that reflect the full range of analysis of Black Politics. Consistent with our goal, this issue offers a research article, two review articles, and book reviews of some of the most recent publications in the field. Chris Stout, Katherine Tate, and Meghan Wilson provide a review of the research around Black political representation in Congress and state legislatures. This type of work is significant during such a watershed moment in which we see an increased number of African Americans seeking elected office and the rising influence of African Americans in Congress.
