Abstract

There has been no shortage of judgments on the characteristics of youth in post-Soviet Russia, and the often contradictory data has prevented researchers from arriving at any definitive answer. As a result, the status of youth has been subjected to more moralistic than scientific analysis, and to the various political and social agendas of the commentator. This month, we have a number of articles that provide empirical data on youth in Russia, together with some attempts at generalization.
